Din umbră, două siluete

Răsar şi-mi bântuie fiinţa,

Dar pentru asta Dumnezeu creat-a,

Din vălmăşagul de păcate,

Conştiinţa.

Şi putredă-i  acum, dorinţa;

Se zbate agitată

În cuşca raţiunii,

Iar îngerii veghează paşii,  

Ce sunt supuşi                                

Deşertăciunii.

Balanţa se înclină încă

Între sacru şi profan,

Înger şi demon asudă,

În decorul diafan.
